DAZN was the exclusive global broadcaster of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™, delivering every match live and free-to-view to fans worldwide – a historic first for a men’s international club football tournament.
All 63 games of the tournament were broadcast by DAZN globally for free, making it the most accessible club football tournament ever held.
24 variants of each game were produced in multiple languages including English, Spanish, Italian, German, French, Dutch, Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Arabic, Japanese, Korean, Hebrew and Mandarin Chinese.
DAZN’s playout facility provided a TX function for real time graphics, ad insertion, promos, SCTE for downstream DAI workflows and DAZN internal services. DAZN expanded this capacity by 150%, as well as increasing the resilience per event by running dual TX channels to make the FCWC highly available and resilient.
The DAZN platform was completely revamped to create a new platform for free users, in anticipation of high traffic volumes. This new platform is highly scalable and resilient without a single point of failure.
At peak number of games, end-to-end monitoring across all 108 unique feeds was required. DAZN’s monitoring facilities were in Leeds, Bangor and Hyderabad. A new Master Control Room was built to deliver the number of events and to increase the monitoring capabilities to include HDR and Dolby Audio 5.1.
DAZN worked closely with its CDN partners to increase the capacity needed for Club World Cup’s global demand, as well as developing the DAZN Edge footprint with additional Points of Presence.
