We’ve partnered with Code First Girls, the U.K. social enterprise working to close the gender gap in technology and skills gap for Women in Tech.
This partnership ensures accessibility for women to pursue a job in technology, whilst showcasing the various pathways that can be taken to build a successful career, regardless of their age, work history and educational background.
As part of this strategic partnership, DAZN has committed to supporting Code First Girls in providing:
Nanodegrees
Open to high potential women who aspire towards a career in data or software. Course includes Python, SQL and building end-to-end systems.
Classes
Designed with the universities of Leeds to provide fundamental grounding in web development, python or data during an 8-week period. The course provides live demonstrations and application through in-class exercises. Learners build innovative tech projects to kickstart their online developer portfolio.
MOOC’s
Online courses designed in short segments to impart technical skills, confidence, or career discovery.
SINCE THE PARTNERSHIP BEGAN, DAZN HAS EMPLOYEED SEVERAL GRADUATES OF CODE FIRST GIRLS’ NANODEGREE TO JOIN OUR TALENTED ENGINEERING TEAM.

Julie Luu, Junior Software Engineer shares her experience in the Nanodegree program:
“I’ve worked in IT support for over 10 years, but in time, I started questioning whether it was my forever job. At the beginning of 2020, I decided to change careers and explore other paths within the IT industry.
I enrolled in two intensive courses with Code First: Girls (CFG) and eventually applied for their Nanodegree, which allowed me to hone my knowledge in Python while continuing to master development tools such as Git and Visual Studio Code. DAZN’s mentorship was such an invaluable part of this whole experience.
One of the best parts of the course was the fantastic community the students built, and at the end of the course, I was offered a one-year placement with DAZN as Junior Software Engineer. With that, I reached my goal of becoming a Software Engineer.
DAZN’s partnership with CFG played an important part of my ability to achieve my career switch, and in an industry where it is very male dominated, sponsorships like this will ensure that more woman and non-binary people that come from different backgrounds, are given the opportunity to upskill themselves, change their careers and turn their goal into reality.”
DAZN is proud to provide the skills, space, and inspiration for Women in Tech to become future leaders.
