We’ve partnered with Code First Girls, the U.K. social enterprise working to close the gender gap in technology and skills gap for Women in Tech.

This partnership ensures accessibility for women to pursue a job in technology, whilst showcasing the various pathways that can be taken to build a successful career, regardless of their age, work history and educational background.

As part of this strategic partnership, DAZN has committed to supporting Code First Girls in providing:

Abigail Wilson, Junior Software Engineer at DAZN speaks about her Nanodegree experience and how she began her journey at DAZN:

Joining DAZN as junior software engineer was a leap of faith. Having spent my career so far working on programmes for a charity, transitioning into tech was a huge change. One month in I can safely say it was one of the best decisions I’ve made.  I was matched with DAZN  through the Nanodegree andlittle did I know I know how crucial of a role it would come to play in my career transition.
I already feel right at home at DAZN and was able to start making small contributions to code from my second week. I’m not sure what my journey into tech would have been like, or if it would have even happened had it not been for the Nanodegree. However, I can be certain that the process wouldn’t have been as quick or smooth without the support DAZN has been willing to offer.”

Julie Luu, Junior Software Engineer shares her experience in the Nanodegree program:

“I’ve worked in IT support for over 10 years, but in time, I started questioning whether it was my forever job. At the beginning of 2020, I decided to change careers and explore other paths within the IT industry.
I enrolled in two intensive courses with Code First: Girls (CFG) and eventually applied for their Nanodegree, which allowed me to hone my knowledge in Python while continuing to master development tools such as Git and Visual Studio Code. DAZN’s mentorship was such an invaluable part of this whole experience.
One of the best parts of the course was the fantastic community the students built, and at the end of the course, I was offered a one-year placement with DAZN as Junior Software Engineer. With that, I reached my goal of becoming a Software Engineer.
DAZN’s partnership with CFG played an important part of my ability to achieve my career switch, and in an industry where it is very male dominated, sponsorships like this will ensure that more woman and non-binary people that come from different backgrounds, are given the opportunity to upskill themselves, change their careers and turn their goal into reality.”

DAZN is proud to provide the skills, space, and inspiration for Women in Tech to become future leaders.
