We’ve partnered with Plan International to empower children to go to school and tackle gender equality through sport.

SINCE 2013, DAZN HAS DONATED OVER £650,000 TO PLAN INTERNATIONAL IN SUPPORT OF THEIR EMPOWERMENT THROUGH SPORT PROGRAM. THROUGH OUR PARTNERSHIP WE HAVE REACHED MORE THAN 30,000 CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE IN INDIA AND BRAZIL.

Our employees have climbed mountains, run marathons and cycled across continents to raise funds for Plan International. Through our project in Teresina, Brazil,  DAZN has supported young people to become Champions of Change; developing key life skills through football and learning about gender equality, harmful stereotypes and how to campaign for change.

DAZN has established 17 football teams across the communities, distributing new equipment, providing referee training, and developing community sports pitches to create safe spaces for young people to play. It has provided girls and boys with the opportunity to see the strength and skill of one another and inspire the next generation of athletes.

DAZN AND PLAN INTERNATIONAL TEAM UP TO GIVE AN ASPIRING SPORTS BROADCASTER A REAL-LIFE LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITY ATTENDING AND DIRECTING A UWCL MATCH BEHIND THE SCENES.

In 2021 DAZN went global, and so did our partnership with Plan.

DAZN will now be raising money to support Plan International’s critical work in 75 countries – reaching millions of young people. From providing children living in refugee camps with child-friendly spaces to play, to training girls in leadership skills, DAZN’s support will change the lives of children and young people worldwide.

Some of the projects that DAZN is supporting are below:

Supporting girls’ accelerated learning in Zimbabwe by providing mobile phones

Helping to provide safe schools for refugee children in Ethiopia

Increasing health in children in Bangladesh with food and nutrition education

AS PART OF OUR RENEWED GLOBAL PARTNERSHIP, DAZN IS SPONSORING YOUNG CHILDREN AROUND THE WORLD.

Anna Coccia, TX Resource Coordinator at DAZN shares how meaningful sponsorship is for her:

“As someone who comes from Latin America, I’ve always wanted to give something back to developing countries in some way. Child sponsorship was something that I did in the past when I lived in Spain and was a such a positive and meaningful experience.
When I heard the news about DAZN’s partnership with Plan, and found out about the child sponsorship campaign, I didn’t think twice, it was just the right time for me.
I’ve just received the first letter to the welcome pack. It is so moving to know more about the child I’m being sponsored and see his picture and his families. To my surprise he is from Latin America as well and I’m so excited that we’ll be able to write to each other in Spanish. I really look forward to knowing more about him and to grow this new bond. Also, I’m already planning to visit him in a few years’ time when my own children get a bit older. Today I am a happier and more fulfilled person because of this.
I encourage everyone to take this step. For me, it is about equality, social justice and wellbeing for both the sponsor and the child. It is about using our privilege to change the life of a child and his community. It is about taking action and making our contribution for a better world.”

Emma Rouhani, Talent Acquisition Lead and Charity Champion at DAZN shares her experiences visiting DAZN and Plan International’s project in Brazil:

“The trip to Brazil was really eye opening and inspiring. We had the chance to see the project and the results of our fundraising in action, and the impact it was having in the communities. We took part in some workshops with young women involved in the project, who shared their experiences of the struggles they face as females in their communities, and the lack of opportunities they have. It was really inspiring to hear about the way the project had helped them realise their rights and their potential.
We also took part in a football tournament that brought 9 different communities together, the biggest event the area had ever seen! It was amazing to see the power of football bringing the communities together, witnessing boys and girls play together and respect each other and seeing their joy and motivation. We got roped into a few matches ourselves, which resulted in a lot of embarrassment as the boys and girls ran circles around us! Overall, the trip taught me that this is so much more than just a football project, the power this project has to inspire the next generation to promote a more equal, productive environment across these communities is incredible, and its an experience that will stick with me for life.”
