DAZN CONTINUES INVESTMENT IN FRANCE WITH EXCLUSIVE ELITE BASKETBALL RIGHTS

 

 

London, 4 July 2024: DAZN, the world’s leading sports entertainment platform, today announced it had secured the French and a selection of international* rights to the Betclic Elite Championship after a successful negotiating process with the French Basketball Federation (FFBB) and the National Basketball League (LNB). The rights run over a five-year period from September 2024 to June 2029.

This strategic partnership marks a historic opportunity for French basketball with the commitment of DAZN, as the official and exclusive broadcaster, to work collaboratively to develop new, innovative and personalised ways of consuming content, engaging and exciting fans, and reaching new audiences.

In addition to the weekly fixtures of the Betclic Elite Championship, DAZN will extend its coverage to the major events organised by the LNB: the ALL STAR GAME in December, the LEADERS CUP in February, as well as the introduction of a new tournament dedicated to young talent in January.

Through its agreement with FIBA, which includes the availability of the Courtside 1891 offer, DAZN also streams live FIBA matches, in particular those of national basketball teams and FIBA international competitions, including FIBA World Cups, as well as all FIBA Continental Cup competitions and U19/U17 World Cups. Users can also watch live and on-demand regional club competitions, such as the Basketball Champions League, the Intercontinental Cup, the EuroLeague Women and the East Asia Super League, as well as national leagues such as the Liga Endesa, the NBL, the Japanese B. League and many others.

DAZN also broadcasts many other basketball competitions across Europe, including the National Basketball Association (NBA) in Germany and Belgium, the Women’s NBA in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the Basketball Champions League in Italy, the Basketball Serie A (LBA), the EuroLeague and EuroCup in Italy, FIBA in Japan and Italy, and the Liga ACB in Portugal.
